LMS Positives

Mrs. Coffman | August 27, 2014

I am creating a WALL OF HAPPINESS outside the LMS Learning Commons. As the students come into the Learning Commons they have the opportunity to take a circle and write something that makes them HAPPY on it. Many students have taken me up on this offer. We are hoping that if someone is having a bad day they will walk by the wall and smile.

As part of this movement....I want to start writing down some positives I have been seeing at LMS since school began.

1. I saw a student drop something in the hallway and watched another student pick it up. I know it seems small but it was a nice gesture.

2. We have dealt with a lot of heat over the first few days of school and I haven't heard one student complain!

3. I have seen a lot of SMILES as students have reunited with their friends!

That's all for now! I'll be posting more positives as I see them!

KEEP SMILING!

Positives:

1. The 5-8 Grade Students created a "Wall of Happiness" this week! Teachers contributed as well!

2. I saw 7th grade students helping 5th grade students find books in the library catalog today.

3. I had a teacher tell me she smiles when she walks by the "Wall of Happiness."

4. I work in a wonderful place where I got to see the entire student body this week come through the Learning Commons and pick out books!

COFFMAN CORNER

I have started my Coffman Corner in a Blog! I will be putting all of my information here for you to access at anytime!

LIBRARY

Library starts next week with the ELA 1 teachers! We are very excited to begin seeing students. We will be conducting a library orientation this coming week. The following week when we see all the ELA 2 teachers we will be going over how to search for things in our Destiny Catalog and giving them a preview of Destiny Quest. Destiny Quest is a program in the catalog where each student can have their own login and create reading lists, write reviews, and place holds on up to two items at a time! We are very excited about this new addition!

LAMINATING

Laminating Day is on Tuesdays!

Mrs. McGregor and I just successfully changed the laminating roll!

READING COUNTS

All students have been put into the Reading Counts system. I have tried to put all new students in as well. IF you come across anyone who is not in it or who is having trouble logging in please let Mrs. McGregor or myself know so we can fix it!

Have a great year!
