Below is a survey to help Project Sun collect information on Community Level Trauma experienced which will be used to inform response initiatives to better address trauma experienced by those living in our communities. Please feel free to share will your contacts to help them get a strong response base.

 

WHAT IS PROJECT SUN?

Project SUN is a Strong and Unified Network that is family-driven and youth-guided.
It is dedicated to strengthening the children's behavioral health system of care
in Kankakee County through a coordinated network of services and supports
to address the needs of the whole child.

Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health
The Center is a comprehensive outpatient-counseling agency that provides mental health counseling services and therapy to children, adolescents, and adults who live and work in Kankakee County. Helen Wheeler also provides crisis screenings for adolescents (SASS) and adults.

In addition to the above resources, the Illinois Department of Human Services Mental Health Division has a free-of-charge emotional support text line: Call4Calm Text "TALK" to 552020 and a counselor employed by a local community mental health center will call within 24 hours. You cal also text this same number with key words such as "UNEMPLOYMENT", "FOOD" or "SHELTER" and you will receive information on how to navigate and access supports and services.
