HHS Orchestra Events for 2023-24 Full HHS Music Dept Calendar
Sept. 4 LABOR DAY Celebration Concert, Herscher Park. 2:00 call time for 2:30 concert. Wear Gold and Black. All Orchestra Students.
Sept 16 ONU ILMEA Clinic at Larsen Hall, ONU campus. 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. Interested students. This is not a school-sponsored event. You are responsible for your own transportation. Free lunch at ONU afterward, if interested.
Oct. 3 ILMEA Video Auditions Due. Interested students.
Oct. 16 Orchestra and Choir Fall Concert. 6:15 call time for 7:00 concert. All Orchestra Students. HHS or Herscher Intermediate Gym.
Nov. 18 ILMEA District 3 Festival All Day. Olivet Nazarene University. 8:00 am meet at Larsen Hall Auditorium. Free Concert 4:30 pm Centennial Chapel. Selected students
Dec. 11 HHS Music Department Concert HHS Gym ***6:15 pm call time for 7:30 concert***. All Orchestra Students
Jan 11 (tent.) Orchestra Retreat!! 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. HHS orchestra room. All Orchestra Students Welcome! Lunch provided by Herscher Music Boosters.
Jan. 16 ONU Honors Orchestra. Larsen Hall, ONU Campus. All Day, with concert at 7:00 pm. During School. Interested students. Signed Field Trip Form Necessary. You will need to bring supper money and Concert Uniform. Free concert open to public that evening at Larsen Fine Arts Auditorium.
Jan. 30-Feb.1 ILMEA All-State Festival. Peoria Selected Students
Feb. 23-24 University of Illinois Orchestra Clinic. Overnight trip. Signed Field Trip Form Necessary. There will be a fee for this trip, $40. All Orchestra Students, plus Symphony Orchestra Winds and Percussion. We will leave after school on Friday.

Feb. TBA HHS Music Dept. trip to Chicago Symphony Orchestra Open Rehearsal. 7:00 am load, 4:30 est. return. Signed Field Trip Form Necessary. Bring lunch money. All Orchestra Students may attend.
Feb. 26 Herscher CUSD2 District Orchestra Festival. HHS Gym. 6:00 pm call time for 7:00 pm Concert. All Orchestra Students. This concert will be over by 8:00 pm.
Mar 2 IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest, Location TBA local high school. All day. Participating Orchestra Students.
Mar. 15 Orchestra performs in school Swing n Sing assemblies am and pm. All Orchestra Students.
Mar. 15 Herscher's Got Talent, 7 pm. HHS Gym. Selected students.
Mar. 16 Swing and Sing, Jazz band and Show Choir Festival. Orchestra Students in Jazz band or Show choir only. Extra credit may be earned for working this festival.
April 11 Pre-Contest Concert. 6:15 pm call for 7:00 pm concert. All Orchestra Students.
April 12 IHSA Organizational Contest, Location TBA local high school. Today is an extra day if needed. All Orchestra Students plus Symphony Orchestra Winds and Percussion.
April 13 IHSA Organizational Contest, Location TBA local high school. All Orchestra Students plus Symphony Orchestra Winds and Percussion.
May 11 Music in the Parks Performance at Zion Township HS and Six Flags Great America, TBD based on interest. All Day. Signed Field Trip Form Necessary. Students will need to bring money for food. There will be a $40 - $45 fee.
May 13 Spring Concert and Awards. 6:15 Call time for 7:00 pm Concert. All Orchestra Students.
May TBD HHS Commencement Concert, HHS Gym. 1 pm call time for 1:45 pm Graduation. All Orchestra Students.
